The Story

The short version:

Jason M. built a website about CreekRidge for the seasonals, and Shawn S. has agreed to help moderate it.

The website is:

  • Part digital scrap book
  • Part communication hub for seasonal specific information
  • Part central repository of all things a CreekRidge camper may want to know
The URL is https://www.crcmen.org/. You can share this URL with anyone interested in camping at CreekRidge, if you think they would find the information useful.

There is also a lot of content available to seasonal members who wish to create an account. Similar to the Seasonal Men Facebook page, you will lose access to the seasonal content if you are no longer a seasonal member or campground employee.

The long version:

From Jason M.:

CreekRidge owners, staff and seasonals do so much creative and physical work making an amazing home away from home for all of us. I wanted a way to showcase how awesome CreekRidge is, so I built a website to act as a sort of digital scrap book - among other things - to capture the special moments before any more details become lost to time.

To foster inclusivity, I wanted to provide a single place to house all the valuable information the campground provides via email, event boards, Facebook posts, etc., in a platform independent way, allowing the public information to be public and the information relevant only to seasonals, available only to seasonals.

I'm proud of our campground, and there are times I want to share that pride, but there are not a lot of CreekRidge branded clothing and swag options available to purchase. I decided to figure out how to build and include a non-profit logo store - including a new custom logo for CRC Seasonal Men. The products in the store are setup with 0% markup. I make no money off anything purchased there. I just wanted the seasonals be able to show off our CreekRidge pride. In addition to the LGBTQIA+ rainbow design of our new logo, there are logo variations to represent Asexual, Bisexual, Bear, Leather, Nonbinary, Pansexual, Polyamory and Transgender Pride!

All you need is a web browser and an internet connection to view the site. In addition to all the publicly available information, like the public google calendar you can link to your personal calendar, seasonal members can get an account to the site that provides exclusive access to many pages.

Highlights include:

  • The Seasonal Men Logo Store
  • Historic Weekend Event details
    • This is still under development and may contain inaccurate information.
  • The current Seasonal Campsite Use Agreement
  • Titleholder photo albums
  • While the map page is visible to the public, when you are longed in you also see a list of which campers are on which site.

If you would like to take a look, the public site can be found by going to https://www.crcmen.org/.

Cue the orchestra music:

While I spent many hours on this project, I didn't built it alone. There are a few people I need to thank:

  • First and foremost, my husband, Patrick. Thank you for being so patient with me, during this project - and always. I love you so much!
  • Thank you to my new partner in crime in this endeavor, Shawn S., for agreeing to be a moderator.
  • I'm not sure if he volunteered or was voluntold, but thank you either way to Christopher for being a technical resource.
  • I want to thank everyone that provided proof-reading, feedback, a listening ear when I was rambling on about my project, and encouragement throughout the entire process;  Patrick, Shawn and Christopher, Mark, Duke and Bryan, Marc, Jeffrey, Don, Peter, my very own 'Councel of Ladies' - Patti, Kim, Jessica, Kip, Tara - and anyone I may have forgotten.
  • Thank you to Camp Daddy Mike, Matt & Ron, Jeffrey, Scott, Mark, John, Shawn, and any other employees of the campground - past, present or future - for making it such a spectacular place!
  • And last but not least, thanks to the titleholders and friends that I reached out to this week who provided photos on such short notice, as well as everyone else who has or will share photos and content with us in the future.
None of this would be possible or worth doing if it wasn't for all of you!

As we move forward, Shawn and I do ask for your patience with this project. For me it's been a labor of love, but web administration and design are somewhat new. As for Shawn - he's just getting started with all of it but very excited about the project, too. You can email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with any comments, suggestions, corrections or relevant photos, and we will do our best to include them.

Looking forward to an amazing season this year and into the future!
